With Annuals & Perennials 2013

A new series of Dahlia x Hybrida called Happy Days® is just one of many new ranges launched by FloriPro Services™ in its newly published Annuals and Perennials 2013 Brochure. Available in four colours – Rose, White, Pink and Red Flame - the large single flowers have attractively contrasting dark centres and are borne on compact, basal-branching plants for many weeks through the summer.

Other new Annuals from Cuttings featured in the publication include Argyranthemum PLA® Daisy Crazy® Starlight Red, which produces an abundance of strong red blooms, Bidens Yellow Charm, which is naturally compact in growth and produces its large flowers early, and Sutera (Bacopa) Scopia Gulliver™ Dynamic White with extra-large flowers, complementary dark foliage and a freely branching habit making it ideal for baskets and other containers.

The Calliope range of Hybrid Pelargoniums is enhanced by the launch of a new, bold shade in Lavender Rose, which joins the intensely coloured Scarlet and Dark Red. The Calliopes are remarkable for their hybrid vigour demonstrated in large, self-cleaning flowers, robust health and heat tolerance.

The Annuals from Seed section also sees new ranges added to the FloriPro Services™ offer for 2013. Begonia tuberhybrida Swing™ boasts a high uniformity between its five colours of White, Yellow, Orange, Scarlet and Pink Shades, plus a Mixture. It is claimed to be the most compact series of Begonia tuberhybrida on the market. Swing™ is ideal for 9-11cm pots and high-density culture, travels well and is most appealing at retail.

The company is introducing two new ranges of petunia for the forthcoming season. Large flowers on low-growing plants are the hallmark of Petunia grandiflora Duvet F1 Salmon, White, Red, Pink and Blue. Naturally compact at around 12cm, the Duvet F1 series bears its blooms above the foliage. Petunia milliflora Picobella™ F1 Cascade has a tumbling habit, tolerance of poor weather, floriferousness and good garden performance. The series has seven colours.

The Perennials section of the brochure sees the launch of two new series – Aquilegia vulgaris Clementine and Phlox paniculata Sweet Summer®. Clemetine comes in five colours and a mixture and is notable for its upward-facing, fully double flowers on well-branched and long-blooming plants. Mildew-resistant Sweet Summer® has 10 scented colours in the series, all set against dark foliage and stems to make eye-catching subjects at retail. The plants are free-branching.

Other perennial introductions for 2013 include Echinacea purpurea Cheyenne Spirit, a blend of strong colours well suited to two-litre pots and above, Arenaria montana Summer White, which is both early and long flowering, and Lavandula angustifolia Ellagance Pink and Purple, both of which are well suited to early production and are good for impulse sales.
