Viola Deltini Honeybee creates a buzz with growers
FloriPro Services™ reports its newly launched Viola cornuta Deltini™ F1 Honey Bee has been such a great success with growers that it quickly sold out for the season.
Area Managers have reported they have never received so many positive comments on a new variety so soon after its release. “Customers have been asking for it by name”, one reported. The reason for this is garden centres and other retailers have noticed how popular it is with consumers. “Its unique colour and catchy name have encouraged our customers to buy Honey Bee in great quantities”, said Walter Back of Blue Ribbon Plants, Chichester.
A total of seven new Deltini® colours were introduced for the 2011 season. In addition to the soft and warm Honey Bee, the dramatic white and purple Cuty and the contrasting Yellow and Purple bicolour were also launched, plus bright Blue Beacon, richly dark Violet Blue and Neon Violet, and Blue with Purple Wing – all of which are distinctly different.Deltinis® are well suited to both pack sales and to 9cm pots, where their basal branching, non-stretching habit ensures attractive, stocky, upright plants to catch the consumer’s eye. Their early flowering and ultra-uniform habit help to create a product which will appeal to both impulse purchasers and those flower gardeners who want the best for their displays.
